Zinnias is a painting by Charles Demuth (1883-1935), done in 1921. It was in an art book I bought for practice – I loved the work when I saw it. The colours were soothing and the fluidity of the painting gave me a sense of calmness and peace. I experimented with using more water and letting the colours run into each other.

The original hangs in the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
