Let the Experiment begin! Close eyes....breathe deeply....relax....The good news – all over in five minutes! And there would be minimal side effects. The tumour in the other lung would act as a marker.  If the vaccine was effective, the tumour would regress. I went in for my first lung surgery on 12 February 2003.

We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn, which offered spacious serviced apartments.  The staff were friendly and hospitable, accustomed to the needs of out of state and international patients due to the fame of The Cleveland Clinic.  Connected to the Inn was a covered walkway, with some shops and restaurants. This was a real Godsend due to the freezing condition outside. The Vietnamese food stall was our regular stop.  For exercise after my ops, I stalked the hotel corridors!
